Vineyard
The vineyards of Château Grand Corbin-Despagne are located in the north of Saint-Emilion, close to Pomerol. They comprise just under 29 hectares of plots planted with 6,000 to 8,000 vines per hectare. The average age of the vines is 15 years, yielding 42 hl per hectare. Green harvesting is practiced. The soil consists of calcareous sandy soil on a subsoil of iron oxide and old sandy soil mixed with clay. The estate has held organic certification since 2013, meaning no herbicides are used.
Vinification
The organically grown grapes are hand-picked and transported in small boxes to the domain, where they undergo a very strict and multiple selection. Fermentation takes place at 28°C. During vinification, the pigeage technique is applied, and the juice is regularly pumped over. The wine matures for 20 months in oak barrels, half of which are new and the other half are used for the second time.

Château Grand Corbin-Despagne
Frankrijk · Bordeaux
