Vineyard
The grapes for La Terre Mère originate from two small plots in the Vallée de la Marne: La Pièce des Cotéas (25.21 ares, west-facing, 115–119 m altitude) and La Pièce des Uselants (9.66 ares, north/northwest-facing, 127–130 m altitude). These vineyards are located on Cuisian geological terroirs, consisting of sand, sandstone, clay, and limestone on colluvium. The soils are rich in brown lime and contain sandy and stony clay, which provides tension and structure to the wines. Since 2015, the land has been fully cultivated, and in 2016, a switch was made to biodynamic practices. The 2023 harvest marked official certification as organic agriculture. Herbicides and synthetic agents are excluded, while fermented plant extracts and decoctions are used to support the vitality of the vines.

Alexis Leconte
Frankrijk · Champagne
