Vineyard
Vineyards are located on gravelly terroirs in Saint-Julien with excellent drainage and deep root development. The estate consists of a mosaic of different plots with varying gravel and clay compositions. The proximity of the Gironde provides a temperate microclimate. 2018 saw a very wet spring followed by a warm, dry summer and early autumn, which led to perfect ripeness and healthy grapes. This resulted in high concentration while maintaining freshness and aromatic precision.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by parcel and rigorously sorted to select only optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled, modern tanks with a gentle extraction approach to preserve finesse. Maceration is adjusted to the ripeness level to maintain a balance between fruit and structure. Aging occurs for approximately 16–18 months in French oak, with a significant proportion of new barriques. The result is a pure, elegant Saint-Julien style with a focus on precision and aromatic clarity.

Château Branaire-Ducru
Frankrijk · Bordeaux
