Vineyard
Château L'Évangile boasts approximately 22 hectares of vineyards on one of Pomerol's finest terroirs, located between Petrus and Cheval Blanc. The soil consists of a combination of clay, gravel, and an iron-rich subsoil, typical of the great Pomerols. Merlot dominates the plantings, providing richness and texture, while Cabernet Franc adds freshness and structure. The warm and dry growing season of 2015 resulted in exceptionally ripe grapes with great concentration.
Vinification
The grapes were harvested by hand between mid-September and early October 2015. After careful selection, traditional vinification took place per plot. The wine then matured for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels, almost 100% of which were new wood. This aging process provides extra depth, structure, and refinement. The result is a powerful yet elegant Pomerol with great aging potential.
