Vineyard
The Gewürztraminer grapes come from the Grand Cru Steingrubler plot. The complex soil structure originates from the Oligocene epoch and consists of granite, clay, marl, and limestone. The Pinot Beurrot thrives on a soil of marl, limestone, and sandstone. The vines are on average 38 years old and are located on fairly steep, south-facing plots. There are about 5,200 vines per hectare.
Winemaking
The harvest is done manually. The bunches are destemmed upon arrival at the winery. Maceration takes 17 days. The 11-month aging takes place in a mix of old demi-muids and old barrels. It contains less than 0.5 grams of residual sugar per liter.

Domaine Barmès-Buecher
Frankrijk · Alsace
