Vineyard
The south-southeast-facing vineyards are located on the Buchertberg, which is of volcanic origin. The deeper subsoils date back to the Tertiary period and consist of calcareous sandstone, along with sand and Opok, a schist-like rock that is actually a mixture of silt and clay. The vines are between 1 and 11 years old.
Winemaking
The naturally occurring vinification starts with a 6 to 12-hour skin maceration. Fermentation and maturation take place in 600-liter Startin barrels, with wood sourced from the local forest. This wine contains 7.2 grams of residual sugar per liter.
