Vineyard
The soil of the plots, located 350 meters high, originates from the Miocene epoch. During the beginning of this era, a shallow and eastward expansion of the Atlantic Ocean occurred, stopping in the vicinity of Agen. At the end of the Miocene, this body of water receded, leaving behind shellfish in a layer of brown marl, sandstone, and yellowish-brown sand. The average age of the vines is 35 years.
Vinification
The bunches are hand-picked and destemmed upon arrival at the winery. Vinification takes place naturally. Co-fermentation and maceration last 30 days. The 6-month aging process, like the rest of the vinification, takes place in concrete tanks.
