Vineyard
The Chardonnay for this Marsannay Blanc comes from the Clos du Roy climat, one of Marsannay's most prestigious terroirs. The vineyard is planted on stony soil with clay, limestone, and sandstone, which creates a distinct mineral structure and refined tension. The high planting density of approximately 10,000 vines per hectare encourages natural concentration in the grapes.
Winemaking
After a strict selection process, the grapes are fully destemmed and undergo a short cold maceration at 8°C. Alcoholic fermentation starts spontaneously thanks to the indigenous yeasts present and proceeds at a controlled low temperature. Subsequently, the wine matures for 12 to 18 months in 350 and 500-liter oak barrels, with only a small portion being new barrels. This results in a wine that combines richness and complexity with freshness and terroir expression.

Domaine Charlopin-Tissier
Frankrijk · Bourgogne
