Vineyard
The grapes come from organically managed vineyards where no pesticides are used. The harvest is done entirely by hand to preserve the quality of the fruit. The combination of Tinta Roriz and Fernão Pires creates a classic Portuguese Palhete style. The low intervention in both vineyard and cellar emphasizes the terroir and the natural expression of the grapes.
Vinification
This Palhete is made using a traditional Portuguese method in which red and white grapes are processed together. The spontaneous fermentation occurs with natural yeasts. The wine then matures for 18 months in used American oak barrels, ensuring the wood remains subtly integrated. The wine is bottled unfiltered and contains only a minimal amount of sulfites (<15 ppm). The result is a light, elegant red wine with great freshness and pure fruit.
