Vineyard
The grapes are hand-picked into small crates to prevent damage. Fermentation is naturally initiated with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled concrete tanks. Extraction here is slightly more intense than for the Baixo Corgo, suiting the thicker skins from this zone. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and full maturation in concrete. Oak is deliberately not used, allowing the wine to retain a remarkable vertical structure, precision, and pure terroir expression.
Vinification
The vineyards are located in the heart of the Douro: the Cima Corgo. The slopes here are extremely steep and the soil consists of pure, hard slate (schist) with a minimal top layer. The climate here is drier and warmer, which ensures perfect, even ripening of the grapes with a thicker skin. Biodynamic farming forces the roots to dig deep into the rock crevices for water. This results in a wine with significantly more concentration, structure, and a pronounced mineral backbone.

Portugal · Douro
