Vineyard
The vineyard is situated on an argilo-calcaire soil type, specifically calcisols on sandy, calcareous molasse. This combination of clay and limestone gives the wine structure, freshness, and tension simultaneously. The soil provides a strong foundation for a deep, dark fruit expression while also preserving sufficient finesse. The terroir seems particularly well-suited for the combination of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. Especially the balance between ripeness and freshness is beautifully supported here.
Vinification
The grapes are fully destemmed and undergo a 30-day maceration in truncated concrete vats. Extraction is gentle, using remontage, to balance structure and aromatic finesse. The wine then matures for 18 months in 30-hectolitre foudres, which ensures refinement without excessive oak influence. This approach yields a wine with depth, tension, and a beautiful natural freshness. The style is powerful, yet remains controlled and elegant.

Domaine Albert de Conti
Frankrijk · Sud-Ouest
