Appellation - Pouilly-Vinzelles
Vineyard
Pouilly-Vinzelles is a very small appellation of only 66 hectares, located right next to Pouilly-Fuissé, a few kilometers from the Roche de Solutré. The vineyards share similar calcareous soils, a favorable exposure, and high-quality potential with their famous neighbor. This limestone-rich subsoil is crucial for the wine's mineral character. The terroir yields wines with tension, structure, and beautiful complexity.
Winemaking
After a gentle pressing with a pneumatic press, the wine goes into 600-liter oak barrels, half of which are new. Fermentation occurs with natural yeasts. The wine then matures in barrels for 12 months, which gives it extra depth and texture. Before bottling, it is lightly filtered. This approach preserves both the finesse of the Chardonnay and the power and minerality of the appellation.

Domaine Jean-Christophe Perraud
Frankrijk · Bourgogne
