Vineyard
The south-southeast-facing vineyards are located on the Buchertberg, which has a volcanic origin. The deeper subsoils originate from the Tertiary period and consist of calcareous sandstone, along with sand and Opok, a schist-like rock that is actually a mixture of silt and clay. The vines are between 7 and 17 years old.
Winemaking
The natural vinification process starts with 6 hours of skin maceration. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels of French, Hungarian, and local origin. Ageing is done in Startin barrels made from wood sourced from the local forest. This wine contains 0.7 grams of residual sugar per liter.
