Vineyard
The grapes come from the Riede Buchertertberg, a historic vineyard with a long tradition of mixed planting. Old and rare varieties are planted together here, as was customary centuries ago. The soils consist of calcareous sandstone, loam (silt), Opok, and gravel, which provides tension and complexity. This mixed planting collectively translates the terroir, not through one dominant grape. The vineyard is certified organic.
Winemaking
The wine is spontaneously fermented using only indigenous yeasts from the vineyard. All grapes are harvested together and co-fermented according to the traditional Gemischter Satz method. Maturation takes place entirely in wooden barrels, some of which are made from oak from the estate itself. No corrections or interventions are made during vinification. Only a minimal dose of sulfur is added just before bottling.
