Vineyard
The vineyards are located on limestone and clay soils on the Saint-Philippe-d’Aiguilhe plateau. This terroir is very similar to Saint-Émilion and produces concentrated yet fresh Merlot. The vines are on average about 30 years old and are managed sustainably. Low yields ensure concentration and aromatic intensity. The microclimate helps to achieve ripeness without loss of freshness.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested manually and strictly sorted to retain only ripe and healthy fruit. Fermentation occurs parcel by parcel in temperature-controlled tanks to ensure precision and terroir expression. Extraction is gentle to preserve fruit and finesse, with limited over-extraction. Maturation takes place partly in French oak barrels with a modest proportion of new wood. The style remains focused on pure fruit, elegance, and freshness with a light wood structure.
