Vineyard
The vineyards are located on the slopes of Goldberg and Obere Breite in Gols, Burgenland. The vines, 25 years old and trained in single guyot, are planted densely with 7000 plants per hectare. The soil is sandy loam with calcareous layers, which ensures good drainage and minerality in the wine.
Vinification
The grapes were hand-picked on September 22nd and hand-sorted. Fermentation started spontaneously, with a semi-carbonic maceration style where the grapes were fermented with skins and stems for four days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matured for ten months in large, used Blaufränkisch wooden barrels. The wine was bottled unfiltered in July 2024.
