Vineyard
The grapes grow in deep sedimentary soils in the Talfer river basin around Bolzano. These rich soils are ideal for Lagrein and provide concentration and structure. Both pergola and Guyot pruning are used. The combination of soil and climate results in ripe tannins and a soft texture. This terroir produces typical, characterful Lagrein.
Vinification
After fermentation in concrete tanks at a higher temperature (around 30°C), the wine continues to mature in large wooden barrels. This approach ensures maximum extraction of color, tannins, and aromas. The wood softens the structure without masking the fruit. The vinification aims for power and roundness. The result is a full-bodied yet accessible Lagrein.
