Vineyard
Savagnin is traditionally planted on the chalky and marly soils of the Jura. These terroirs contribute to the wine's freshness and pronounced minerality. The vines are often old and low-trained to withstand the cold Jura winters. Manual harvesting is common to keep the delicate grape intact.
Winemaking
The wine was aged according to the "Typé" style, where the barrel is not completely topped up. This allows a thin "voile" (yeast layer) to form, protecting the wine and developing complex oxidative aromas. This gives the Savagnin its typical nutty and spicy character. Ageing usually takes place for several years in wooden barrels.

Domaine Désiré Petit
Frankrijk · Jura
