Vineyard

The vineyard, laid out in small terraces, measures only 1.2 hectares and is situated on a steep slope on the island of Giglio, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. This, relatively speaking, very young island was formed 5 million years ago. The mineral-rich and sandy soil consists of crumbled granite. There are many iron deposits to be found there.

Winemaking

The picking is done manually, during which a strict selection already takes place. The bunches are destemmed and placed in stainless steel vats where the skins remain in contact with the juice during temperature-controlled fermentation. For the 12-month maturation on fine lees, previously used barriques and clay amphorae are employed.
