Vineyard

The vineyards are situated on west and south-facing slopes with calcareous scree soils (éboulis argilo-calcaires). The vines are trained in Guyot and Cordon Royat. The organic plots yield an average of 50 hl/ha. Focused on approachability and fruit expression.

Vinification

The grapes are fully destemmed for gentle extraction. Only indigenous yeasts are used. Fermentation occurs spontaneously without fining or filtering. The wine matures for 7 months in stainless steel tanks to preserve fruit and freshness.

In 1997 bliezen burgemeester Denis Perroux, Michel Grisard en een groep lokale wijnliefhebbers het eeuwenoude wijnverhaal van Tarentaise nieuw leven in. Met de heraanplant van de steile hellingen van Cévins ontstond Domaine des Ardoisières. Sinds 2010 staat Brice Omont aan het roer en bouwt hij verder aan een domein waar de wijngaard centraal staat en de natuur alle ruimte krijgt om zich uit te drukken.
