Vineyard
The 0.23-hectare plot is located on the Rosenberg, a hill in Wettolsheim with clay and limestone soil dating back to the Oligocene. The gently sloping flank faces northeast. The vines are on average 50 years old. There are approximately 5,200 vines per hectare.
Winemaking
The picking is done by hand, followed by pressing. Fermentation is initiated by indigenous yeasts. The 16-month aging on lees takes place in old demi-muids and small oak barrels. It contains 2.1 grams of residual sugar per litre.
