Vineyard
The grapes come from a selection of the best plots in Vigna delle Rose, located on a tuff plateau at an altitude of 400 meters. The vineyard has an area of 2 hectares and benefits from a cooler microclimate due to its altitude. The soils are rich in tuff, which contributes to the pronounced minerality. The vines are on average 18 years old and are planted at 5000 vines per hectare. Harvesting is done manually with strict selection of the best grapes.
Winemaking
The grapes are gently pressed in whole bunches. Fermentation and maturation take place entirely in new French barriques for 12 months, which provides structure, depth, and aromatic complexity. This is followed by another 7 months of maturation on the lees in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the wine matures for another 24 months in the bottle. This long and layered upbringing gives the wine a pronounced aging potential and a very complex style.
