Vineyard
Vincila is only produced in the best vintages. The grapes come from the oldest vines in the best plots. The Grenache vines were planted in 1947, and the Syrah in 1960. The yield for Grenache is 25 hl per hectare, while for Syrah it is slightly higher at 30 hl per hectare. The plots are located in Le Cône de la Font des Papes in the north of Vacqueyras. The top layer of the soil, with fine sandstone and clay, originated in the Quaternary period. This rests on a sublayer of Miocene safre.
Vinification
The organically grown grapes are hand-picked. The wine undergoes a very long maceration and subsequent aging in concrete vats. The wine is only released three years after the harvest.

Domaine Montvac
