Vineyard
The vineyards are situated on deep Garonne gravel and sandy subsoils typical of Margaux. These soils ensure excellent drainage and an elegant tannic structure. The estate comprises approximately 52 hectares with relatively consistent terroir expression. 2016 experienced a classic Bordeaux season with a warm summer and cool nights, leading to perfect phenolic ripeness and preservation of freshness. This resulted in balanced grapes with good aromatic intensity.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by parcel and rigorously selected to ensure only optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel and cement vats with gentle extraction to preserve finesse. Maceration is adapted to the ripeness of the fruit to maintain a balance between structure and elegance. Ageing takes place for approximately 12–15 months in French oak, with around 50% new wood. The result is a classic yet modern Margaux style, with an emphasis on freshness and aromatic precision.
